Shape words in English are used to describe the form of objects around us — from the square screen of your phone to the circular wheels of a car. Knowing shape vocabulary helps you describe things more precisely and clearly.
Shapes can be used in two ways:
✦ As a noun — “Draw a circle.” / “The room is a rectangle.”
✦ As an adjective — “a circular table” / “a rectangular room”
Pro Tip: Most shape nouns have an adjective form — circle → circular, square → square, triangle → triangular, rectangle → rectangular. Learning both forms helps you describe things more naturally.

Useful Phrases for Describing Shapes
