Fruits and vegetables are essential vocabulary for everyday life — shopping, cooking, eating out and talking about healthy habits. Algeria is blessed with an incredible variety of fresh produce, and knowing the English names will help you communicate naturally in any context.
Key vocabulary patterns to remember:
✦ Countable fruits/vegetables use “a / an” → “an apple, a tomato, an onion”
✦ Uncountable (things cut into pieces) → “some watermelon, some broccoli”
✦ To describe taste: sweet, sour, bitter, salty, spicy, fresh, ripe
