Lesson Explanation

Food is one of the most universal and enjoyable topics in any language. Whether you are reading a menu, shopping for groceries, or chatting with a friend about your favourite meal — knowing food vocabulary in English is extremely useful.

In English, we talk about food using different verbs depending on the context:

I eat / I have — for meals → “I have breakfast at 7am.”
I like / I love / I enjoy — for preferences → “I love couscous.”
I am hungry / full — for how we feel → “I’m hungry — let’s eat!”

💡
Pro Tip: In English, the three main meals are breakfast (الفطور), lunch (الغداء), and dinner (العشاء). A light meal between lunch and dinner is called a snack.
